Summer is finally here
The weather is beautiful for cycling, hiking and fishing. The Carson is still running fast because of heave snow melt but both East & West Forks are fishable except for Woodford's Canyon. Bridges on the West Fork were stocked today with Lahontan Cutthroat. I'm going out this evening. I'll let you know how I do.

Fly Fishing on the East Fork of the Carson River
~RAINBOWS-BROOKS-BROWNS~
Nestled under its Golden Trout headwater lake in nearby Mokelumne Wilderness Area, and the Wild Trout Section of the East Carson River, lies Pleasant Valley. Pleasant Valley is only 35 scenic miles from South Lake Tahoe in Alpine County, California’s least populated county.
A Private Water fishery, Pleasant Valley is one of the most beautiful locations in the Eastern Sierra, it is referred to as "Little Yosemite" by visitors. Flowing through this alpine valley, Pleasant Valley Creek fly fishing offers casting for trout in the meandering meadows while the lower stretch serves up some excellent pocket water action. Over three miles of mountain streams are available on the 900 + acre preserve.
Start your day gearing up and lining out at a working cattle ranch. Talk to your guide about the day ahead under the whispering ponderosa pines and the sounds of the creek where your quarry awaits and then be prepared to be yanked outta your boots! Also be rest assured that your day at Pleasant Valley Fly Fishing Preserve will be an experience that you will carry with you for the rest or your days.
Pleasant Valley Fly Fishing Preserve is available for guided or non-guided outings and space is limited to enhance your experience. Check out our "Waters" and "Rates" pages for more information.
